An Improved Adaptive Control Strategy in Grid-Tied PV System With Active Power Filter for Power Quality Enhancement

This article investigates the power quality enhancement of a grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) distribution system by employing fuzzy logic proportional-integrator-derivative multiple complex coefficient filter second-order generalized integrator frequency-locked loop (FLPID-MCCF-MSOGI-FLL) hybrid control scheme based shunt active filter. The MSOGI-FLL reference current generation strategy is implemented to mitigate harmonics extracting fundamental constituents (FCs) from nonlinear load currents, whereas an MCCF employed separate FC distorted grid voltages and eliminates voltage during extremely polluted condition. main objective using FLPID maintain stable between dc ac sides regulating dc-link constant under transient conditions. To track maximum PV panel varying environmental condition, particle swarm optimization perturb observe technique used in this article. comparative analysis analyzed check effectiveness proposed with existing adaptive techniques respect quality, better offset rejection, frequency extraction, synchronization. simulated on MATLAB/Simulink validated real-time field-programmable gate array platform different test scenarios. In conclusion, harmonic content currents found well within IEEE-519 standard limits.
